Growing up in Metcalfe on her parents’ farm, artist Suzanna Winton was mentored from an early age by her mother, Kay Cromartie, also an accomplished artist, who encouraged but never pressured her three children to explore their creative instincts. Today, Winton is an award-winning artist, using her talents not only to create beautiful paintings but also to teach others how to explore their artistic abilities.

For those enchanted by The Nutcracker, the South Georgia Ballet performance is headed into its 27th year and remains as fresh as ever. Every year they change the choreography and sometimes the parts and the costumes, just to keep it fresh and exciting, not only for the audience but also for the dancers to help them shine.
